The sanctuary dates from Saxon times and was a beacon of light to Lancashire Catholics during penal times. The pilgrimage is being organised by the Anglican Society of Mary (North West Ward) and commences at 12 noon. There will be a visit to the Martyrs' Altar and Sprinkling at the Ladywell.
