Pilgrimage, the Journey to Christian Unity

Unitas believes that pilgrimage is one of the foremost spiritual paths along which people discover penitence for their separation, grow together in their common belief in Christ, make amends for the disunity of Christians, and build the joyful unity, peace and holiness of all humanity. It was the first body to organise a pilgrimage to the restored shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, which is now an ecumenical centre for devotion to Christ's incarnation, reparation and spiritual renewal and reconciliation, much loved by Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Orthodox and Methodists, as well as many others. Unitas also supports the pilgrimages to the Shrines of Our Lady at Egmanton and Ipswich to promote the restoration of visible Unity in a spirit of reparation and reconciliation.

During the course of each year, Unitas and individual members of the Catholic League organise pilgrimages to places of great spiritual power, asking God to grant his Church unity and to bind Christians ever closer together in mutual love and service and the proclamation of Christ in a united faith.
