Begijnhof, Brugge - Beguinage, Bruges
The nuns of the Monastery of the Vineyard are the close friends of the Catholic League. Founded after the First World War as a renewal of the old community of Beguines as a contemplative Benedictine monastery of parish sisters, their work is to promote pastoral liturgy, catechesis and Christian formation. They are highly regarded for their celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours with Gregorian Chant. As they were founded at the height of the Liturgical Movement, influenced by Dom Lambert Beauduin and his Monks of Unity at Amay-sur-Meuse in Wallonia (later Chevetogne), they are also committed to the work of ecumenism. Every year members of the League make a pilgrimage to Bruges, staying at the Begijnhof, to live and pray for unity
